Maybe you were a lot younger when you got your old tattoo. Maybe you didn’t know much about tattoo art, or that you could speak up during a consultation. Maybe you were even travelling in a foreign country and couldn’t communicate with your tattoo artist at all! These are all common things I hear from clients who seek me out for a cover-up.

If the thought of getting tattoo makes you feel anxious, because you didn’t feel like your vision was understood the first time, then maybe I am the artist for you. At Tania Coverup Tattoo x Smoking Mermaid Tattoo I will aim to understand your vision from start to finish - from the symbolism, to the motivations, to the reference pictures on your Pinterest board - before trying to come up with your final art.

If you’re relatively new to getting tattooed, I will guide you on artistic and technical aspects of tattooing, letting you know what’s realistic to expect both from the fresh tattoo and from a healed tattoo 10 years from now. If you’re a seasoned veteran with a big tattoo collection already, then I will design a tattoo that looks smooth and cohesive with everything else already on your body.

I always try to guide clients towards the best possible tattoo decisions. I will always give multiple suggestions for how to do a tattoo and/or coverup, including a price range for each. For larger, more complicated pieces, you will always be offered the chance to see art beforehand. I will never pressure a client into getting art that they’re not 100% satisfied with.

I can guarantee you will feel comfortable and understood throughout the whole tattoo cover-up process, or it will not go forward.
